Al Noor Charity Welfare

Today's work is different and very sensitive. Today we helped distribute “Zakat” money to families in need.   Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam. This means that Zakat is mandatory for every sane, adult Muslim who owns wealth over a certain amount – known as the Nisab – he or she must pay 2.5% of that wealth as Zakat. The charity distributes subsidies in all its forms throughout the year, but they distribute cash subsidies under the name of “Zakat” in Ramadan every year, but before Eid al-Adha, financial vouchers are distributed as Eid gifts.  Given the sensitivity of the subject;  It is absolutely forbidden to take pictures, so we cannot share any additional content other than these words.  Publishing private details or pictures from today would be an unethical voluntary act because it is related to the privacy and dignity of families in need.   The social committee is the committee that organizes the affairs of families in need, orphans, or any person in need, where the person in need submits a request letter explaining his situation, the reason for his need for help, and what assistance he desires.  It qualifies him to obtain the subsidy, and the subsidy comes in several forms: financial or medical. Our work today was affiliated with this committee, as we summarized and sorted the applications that were approved and we excluded those that were rejected, as we wrote the information in a table that will then facilitate the committee's access to it when they want to communicate with people of need.  In addition, today Miss Amy visited us and got to know the organization and all its work.

Al-Noor charity, as we mentioned in the blog previously, has several committees. Today, our work was in the workshop in which products are made and sold in the charity gallery, and the profit is due to donations to various causes. In the workshop, they make different types of clothes, then pack them and prepare them for the gallery to be sold, in addition to several handcrafts. The clothes are made by two girls that we did not meet today unfortunately. But the person we met is Ms. Iman, who is in charge of handicrafts. She showed us what we should do and supervised us. Today we organized, prepared, and then wrapped books and gifts in the workshop. These packages are sold at a small price range in the gallery. Today in the charity we got acquainted with the cultural and educational committee, which is one of the committees whose value is no less than the rest of the committees, but on the contrary, it is very important. This committee performs many tasks that serve the various members of society.  Firstly, the Qur’an is taught in it using modern methods with Ms. Fatima. We met Ms. Fatima, she is a wonderful person and we also heard her reciting the Qur’an, she has a beautiful voice and her pronunciation is incredible.  In the charity, Quran lessons are offered for both girls and boys, but boys under the age of ten.  Secondly, Quranic lessons for illiterates and orphans.  Finally, in the library, people can buy books from it, and all profits go to charity Today our task was to arrange the library, we were not able to arrange it completely, but we helped to some extent.   With the unfortunate events in Syria and Turkey after the earthquake, the Al-Noor charity collects donations of food, clothing, and other necessary items. As for us, our role was to help fill the boxes with various products, sort and count everything that we put in the boxes, and then declare it in order to be identified easily.
