Al Noor Charity Welfare

The story of our choice, Al Noor Charity organization

At the beginning, we had this idea to give religious lessons to children in an entertaining and simple manner, because we were very excited to deal with children and spend time with them, but this idea soon came to an end. Because this idea is not as simple as we think, and although the first nursery we contacted gave us hope, we discovered that this matter is not legally acceptable.

Then we sat with each other frustrated, but we realized something that was out of our mind, which is that moral volunteering means that we do not know everything, and even if we think that we have the skills to deal with children, it requires more experience than what we have, and it is a great responsibility.

So we decided to think of something else that we can help and volunteer ethically, until we concluded that the field that most corresponds to our values is charitable societies, so we searched for local organizations that help Bahraini society first and issues that concern the Bahraini people until we found the Al-Noor organization and we contacted them and took the necessary measures In the end, they accepted us.

 

Al Noor Charity organization

It is a women's charitable organization that was opened around 20 years ago. It cares about families in need, orphans, and diseased. It cares about the culture of women, youth, and children. And the work to seek Allah’s blessing. 

 

Day 1

On the 3rd of march 2023 we did our first visit. In this visit we were welcomed by  the director of Human Resources Ms. Huda which we are very thankful for because she gave us this great opportunity. She then proceeded to introduce us to the work of the organization, the procedures, the facilities, and the warehouse where we will be working.

The procedure that we were introduce to is our weekly chores that we are expected to achieve which is as follows: every week they organize different work and they have different purpose. Next week we will be helping with organizing and arranging essential boxes that will be shipped to Syria and Türkiye for the families and people who were damaged by the earthquake.

As a university student, I already have a busy schedule with classes, assignments, and exams, and it can be difficult to fit in volunteering around all of that. Another challenge was coordinating my schedules with the organizations or community groups I was volunteering with. Sometimes they had specific times or days when they needed volunteers, and it didn't always align with my schedule. Week 5

  The social committee is the committee that organizes the affairs of families in need, orphans, or any person in need, where the person in need submits a request letter explaining his situation, the reason for his need for help, and what assistance he desires.  It qualifies him to obtain the subsidy, and the subsidy comes in several forms: financial or medical. Our work today was affiliated with this committee, as we summarized and sorted the applications that were approved and we excluded those that were rejected, as we wrote the information in a table that will then facilitate the committee's access to it when they want to communicate with people of need.  In addition, today Miss Amy visited us and got to know the organization and all its work.
